The Hogan Family Dental Team invites you to participate in our “Thanks”-Giving.  We are teaming up with three different organizations to make a difference in the experience of Thanksgiving and Christmas for those at home and afar.  This year those partners are Grounds For Change, the Custer County Food Bank, and Samaritan’s Purse.  We not only want to be thankful for all that we have been given, but we want to share with others. Ralph Waldo Emerson stated:

“Give thanks for each new morning with its light,
for rest and shelter of the night, for health and food, for love and friends,
for everything thy goodness sends.”

Ways to Participate – With Us

Giving is a great way to say thank you for all that has been given to us and to remember our neighbors during this festive season.  Here are the ways you can participate:

  1. Attend the Festival of Trees to support Grounds For Change and local families on November 14, 2015 at 5 p.m.
  2. Pack a Shoebox for a child overseas.  Print our graphic on Facebook and bring it with your shoebox to Grace Bible Church.  We will supply a toothbrush and pay for shipping. Deadline November 23rd at 10 a.m.
  3. Bring non-perishable food items to Hogan Family Dental for the Custer County Food Bank.  For each donation, we will donate money towards purchasing turkeys for families in Custer County. Deadline November 25 at 12 noon.
  4. Find another way to give to your local community or to somewhere else in the world and leave us a note of Facebook of what you did to bless someone else this holiday season.
  5. Like us on Facebook if you are “with us” in “Thanks”-giving.

Custer County Food Bank

The Custer County Food Bank is located in the Veterans Administration Building on South Winchester Avenue.  The food bank is under the direction of Bob Parker who manages the center so that people in Custer County have access to food and other necessities.  The food bank began serving families of Custer County in 2001.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

Donations are received Tuesday – Thursday, from 9am – 1:30pm.  Mr. Parker says,  “Everything and anything is appreciated.  However we habitually run low on canned fruit and vegetables, cereal, pasta, tuna and peanut butter.”  With Thanksgiving and Christmas approaching, we would like to invite you to make a donation to the food bank, which we will collect for you at Hogan Family Dental.  For every donation, we will donate funds towards the purchase of turkeys for families in our community.

Samaritan’s Purse ® International Relief Organization

Samaritan’s Purse ® International Relief Organization has a project called Operation Christmas Child® (OCC) to reach children in need all around the world.  OCC is the world’s largest Christmas project inviting people to pack a shoebox full of gifts to send to children in more than 100 countries suffering from natural disaster, war terrorism, disease, famine and poverty.  From Miles City, the shoebox gifts will be sorted and sent using whatever means necessary—sea containers, trucks, trains, airplanes, boats, camels and even dog sleds!

Operation Christmas Child

We invite you to pack a shoebox.  You can choose whether your shoebox goes to a little girl or boy and you can choose the age group: 2-4 years old, 5-9 years old, or 10-14 years old. Shoeboxes are filled with gift items—like school supplies, basic personal necessity items, games, toys, hard candy and a letter of encouragement.  Print our graphic to accompany your shoebox at delivery and we will supply a tooth brush and pay for the shipping!  Shoeboxes must be delivered to the Official Collection Center:

Grace Bible Church
3505 Stower Street, Miles City, MT

The Collection Center is open from Monday, November 16th through Monday November 23rd at the following times:  Monday – Friday 5pm – 7pm, Saturday 1pm – 5pm, Sunday 9am – 2pm, and Monday the 23rd from 8am – 10am.  Send a shoebox and make a difference!  Visit the OCC website to learn how this is a meaningful way to share the joys of Christmas with millions of children through the world.  Go here to read shoeboxes stories.

Grounds For Change

Grounds For Change is a volunteer run organization that helps to raise money for families in Custer County.  All monies raised by Grounds For Change help these local families with much needed medical and dental care, educational needs, mental health, social needs and housing.

On November 14th, 2015, Grounds For Change will host the Third Annual Festival of Trees at the Miles City Town & Country Club.  The event will include a silent auction, a Christmas tree auction, a no-host social hour and dinner.  Businesses, organizations and individuals are encouraged to donate a pre-decorated Christmas tree or centerpiece to be auctioned off during the event.

Festival of Trees

Tickets for the event can be purchased at the Miles City Chamber of Commerce or by contacting Angie Lohrke.  Individual tickets are $20 each in advance or $25 at the door.  A group ticket may be purchased as a table of 8 for $150.   Hogan Family Dental is working diligently to decorate our Christmas tree for the auction.  This year for our theme, we have chosen a Christmas Carol:  “Do You Hear What I Hear?”.  We cordially invite you to support GFC by bidding on any of the auction items.

Be THANKFUL

Hogan Family Dental is THANKFUL for your partnership in these endeavors and we wish you and your family many opportunities to GIVE THANKS this season!
